5 Minutes of Om: Vision Boards
*looking into the distance*
Can you see it? I can see it!
See what? – Your future! Well not like a fortune teller or anything, but your future being your intentional effort to manifest the things you want.
I’ve talked about visualization and meditation before so you already know I’m an advocate for positive mind techniques and envisioning positive things for the future, but in this post we are going to get a bit more into this whole visualization thing.
I know some of you have heard of vision boards and may even have your own way of doing them. I’m all the way a VISUAL person/learner. I just wanted to share my yearly ritual for envisioning the things I want in that year. Well it is the New Year and I have a ton of hopes and dreams for 2015. I plan to not only make my vision board apart of my daily prayer and meditation, but to “move my feet” and get into action on bringing these goals to fruition.
So what do you need to get started?
– a pen and paper or maybe a pencil if you erase like me – LOL Take some time before you actually start making the vision board to write down the things you want to accomplish this year. Make a list of things, big and small like clearing up some credit card debt or finding a new job, starting your own business or even writing a book!
Be intentional and purposeful with what you plan — NOTHING is off limits!
– glue, magazines, pictures & poster board – Make sure you have at least a hour or 3 to sit down and complete this board. Go through the magazines and pictures and clip words, phrases and photos that symbolize the things you have written on your list. Use pictures of things you want and don’t forget to include a picture of yourself and a picture of money so that you can have the means to actually accomplish the things you want. Try to find a huge poster board so that you can get it all on there. Start gluing!
After you feel like you have everything on your board and that it includes all your aspirations for 2015, find a place to hang it so you will see it everyday. This can be your prayer corner, your desk, or the wall. I placed mine in my prayer corner of my bedroom. This is a spot where I practice yoga and even write in my journal. Since I sit in this area each day, I see the posters and each day it’s a reminder of what I want and plan to accomplish this year.
When I meditate on my vision boards, I’m actually praying. GOD, my Creator and the Universe are all in tune with what I’m seeking.
BELIEVE you can and will have/accomplish all the things you put on your vision board. Finally GET MOVING! Go put in an application each day for a new job, think about the book you want to write, make an outline and start writing, or set up an allotment to pay down that credit card debt. You can do it! I believe in you. ♡
As always, I think anything we do that can encourage positive vibes is a good practice. If you decide to make a vision board, be sure to meditate daily on all the things you want to manifest in 2015.
Happy New Year!
