Drink Up: Pineapple, Grapefruit & Celery
You guys already know about my love for lemons, but overall, I’m partial to almost every citrus fruit!
The tanginess and sweetness…
All citrus are stars in my book!
I want to share with you the first of many smoothie/juicing recipes that tickle my taste buds.
I started juicing about 3 years ago after watching the movie Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead. Now I’m not fat or sick LOL, but my eating habits were not always the best and definitely could land me worse off health wise. Since that movie, my eyes were totally opened about juicing and its benefits and I dove in head first! I bought a Juiceman from Target and its been on since then! I’m totally saving up for a Vitamix though!
I pretty much have the knack of it and know which combos suit my palate. I’ve also used a lot from the Juicing Bible; it has been an amazing journey so far.
Let’s get into this tangy drink recipe. I’m going to give you the Juicing version and the blending version for a Smoothie.
– 1 pineapple, remove the rind and cut into chunks
– 3 grapefruit, remove the peel and cut into chunks
– 5 stalks celery, chopped
– 1 -2 tablespoons of honey
First juice the celery, then the grapefruit and finally the pineapple.
Pour in honey, stir to incorporate and serve.
– 1 pineapple
– 2 grapefruit
– 2 stalks celery
