5 Minutes of Om: Kindness Rocks
I’m definitely one of “those people”
You know, the people who go out of their way to perform a random act of kindness for someone they don’t know.
You know, “Pay It Forward!“
In 2015, I did an envelope project. I was at my desk praying about something and I got the nudge to send a dollar to my neighbor. Now I know a dollar is a nominal amount, but hey its more than she had and I had no clue if she even needed, but I sent it anyway. For the first 4 months of the year sent letters to some people I knew and others I didn’t with various amounts of money in them, between $1 and $10. I didn’t sign my name because I didn’t want the recipients to feel obligated to give me anything back. In the letter, I did encourage them to do the same. Who knows if anyone ever did.
So why would I go out of my way to do this?
Well why not?!
I figure, giving out a few blessings, no matter how small, would make the universe continue to wave good vibes. What you put out will eventually come back to you, 10 fold!
This year, for 2016, one of my Pay It Forward actions will be to the “Kindness Rocks Project.” I actually came across this on December 31st via one of my Art Teacher groups. As soon as I saw the post of these adorable rocks with the hashtag #thekindnessrocksproject, I knew I had to do it too!
Here are a few of the rocks I’ll be placing around town and on my travels.
If you see one, make one!
It always feels good to extend kindness. Give out what you expect or wish for in return. If you are on Instagram, tag me @ImSimplyD & let me know how yours comes out.
